The seven kinds
- Category, shown as a tree, with a parent’s number including its children’s;
- Tag;
- Brand, when your shop has WooCommerce’s brand taxonomy;
- Attribute, for each global product attribute such as Color or Size;
- Price, as a slider with two fields;
- Stock status: in stock, out of stock, on backorder;
- Rating, from one to five stars.
Categories, tags, attributes, stock and rating can be shown as checkboxes, radio buttons or a dropdown. Each facet has its own heading, and a switch for counts and one for hiding values with no products.
How facets combine
Different facets always narrow each other: red and in stock and under a price. Inside one attribute facet you choose whether several values mean any of them or all of them. The counts follow that choice.
Where the state lives
Everything chosen sits in the address, in WooCommerce’s own parameters plus sw_cat, sw_tag and sw_brand for the three taxonomies. Paste an address into the reader below to see it spelled out. That also means a filtered page can be bookmarked, shared and reloaded.
Read a filter address
Paste the address of a filtered shop page and read it in plain English. Nothing you type leaves this page.
Facets are drawn on the shop page and on product category, tag and brand pages. A set is defined once and can be placed in as many of those as you like, as a block, a shortcode or an Elementor widget.
