1 · Install it

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New, search for Siftwren Product Filter, then press Install and Activate. It filters WooCommerce, so WooCommerce 8.0 or newer must be active, and it needs WordPress 6.4 and PHP 7.4. On anything older it does not start, says so in a notice to the people who can fix it, and leaves the rest of your site alone.

2 · Build a filter set

Open Product Filters → Add filter set. Give the set a name, then add filters: for each, choose what to Filter on (category, tag, brand when your shop has the brand taxonomy, price, stock status, rating, or one of your product attributes) and how to Show as. For an attribute, Several values decides whether a product must match any of the chosen values or all of them. Publish the set.

3 · Place it

The box Where to show this set shows the shortcode, [siftwren_filter id="…"]. Or add the Siftwren Product Filter block in the Site Editor or a widget area, or the Siftwren Filter widget in Elementor (Elementor 3.9 or newer). A set is drawn on the shop page and on product category, tag and brand pages, and nowhere else.

4 · Look at the settings

Product Filters → Settings has five settings: filtering without a reload, noindex for filtered pages, robots.txt rules, a selector for the product list if your theme draws it somewhere unusual, and Delete everything when the plugin is deleted, which is off, so your sets stay unless you say otherwise.

Wondering what the numbers mean? The counts guide has a small checker.

Then, if you want swatches and landing pages

Everything above is free and stays free. Pro is a separate plugin that adds swatches, SEO pages and filters per category. You install it next to the free one; WordPress will refuse to activate it until the free plugin is there. See the pricing →
