What a page is
An ordinary filter address and nothing more: the shop or one category, with one or two attribute values from different attributes, such as the Clothing category with Color blue and Size large. There is no new URL scheme and no extra page in the database. Pro recognises the address when it is asked for and changes what that one page says about itself.
What you write
- a title, up to 120 characters, for the browser tab and the search result;
- a description, up to 300;
- a heading, which replaces the archive title;
- an introduction, shown after the heading.
The heading and introduction are drawn by classic shop templates and by the archive title block of block themes. If an SEO plugin also sets titles, look at the page source to see which one the page ships.
What Pro changes for those pages only
The page loses its noindex. Its own address gets an Allow line in robots.txt, which is longer than the Disallow lines and so wins. And it is added to WordPress’s sitemap. A page with a different value, a second value of the same attribute, a price or any other filter on top is not one of yours, and stays out of the index as before.
Setting it up
Under Product Filters → Settings → SEO pages, fill a row: the archive, the first value, an optional second, and the four texts. A row that does not match a value your shop has is refused with the old pages kept, so a typo cannot wipe your work.
Choose with care. The faceted navigation guide suggests how, and Pro is explained and priced on one page.
