What you get instead

One set with category, colour, size, price and stock in it, one place to change the order, and numbers that match the list. A set can be placed in a sidebar, in a template, or in an Elementor layout, all from the same definition.

Where the set goes in a widget area

Since WordPress 5.8, widget areas take blocks, so the Siftwren Product Filter block is added there like any other. In a classic widget screen, a Text widget holding [siftwren_filter id="12"] does the same. The widget’s own title is the only thing a classic setup would put above it; the set draws its own headings.

What you give up

There is no “Siftwren” entry in the classic widget list. If you rely on a widget area that still uses the old widget screen and a theme that does not run shortcodes in text widgets, you would need a shortcode-capable widget or a page builder block. Most themes run both without a thought.

Also gone: the per-widget display options of the old widget. The set has its own: checkboxes, radio buttons, a dropdown, and a slider for price, plus the any-or-all choice per attribute.

What to check afterwards

  1. Open the shop and click a value. The number beside it should equal the number of results.
  2. Open a category page, to see the set drawn there too.
  3. Look at the page on a phone, where the set folds behind a Filters button.

A set is drawn on the shop and on category, tag and brand pages only. On a normal page it draws nothing for visitors, and shows a one-line note to a shop manager so the empty space is explained.
